DHI Hair Transplant
A sub-variant of FUE, DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) offers several key benefits in addition to retaining the overall methodology. One of its primary advantages is its capacity to create a precise and natural hairline while reducing time and minimizing scalp trauma.

The DHI Method
By utilizing a specialized Choi pen, the DHI method enables meticulous control and placement of individual hair follicles. This precision ensures an aesthetically pleasing and undetectable hairline.
Additionally, the DHI technique significantly enhances graft survival rates by minimizing the duration follicles spend outside the body. The only downside to DHI is its limited coverage, as the method has a graft limit of 4000 follicular units.
With a higher percentage of graft survival for smaller areas, DHI provides a successful and fruitful hair restoration experience for younger patients (under 35) who suffer from milder thinning in selective areas.
The first step of DHI is the extraction process, which utilizes the FUE technique – careful extraction of individual hair follicles from the donor area, typically located at the back or sides of the scalp. Once the donor hair follicles are extracted, they undergo a meticulous sorting process and are prepared for implantation. Each follicle is examined under a microscope to ensure its quality and viability, ensuring that only the best follicles are selected for the pen device.
To facilitate the implantation process, the specialized Choi pen is prepared. The Choi pen is loaded with sorted hair follicles, which are held in a sterile solution. This preparation ensures that the follicles remain intact and ready for precise placement.
Next, tiny incisions or channels are created in the recipient area of the scalp where hair loss or thinning has occurred. These recipient sites are meticulously designed to mimic the natural hairline, ensuring a genuine-looking, undetectable result.
Finally, using the Choi pen, the individual hair follicles are carefully implanted into the recipient sites. The Choi pen provides the necessary control and precision for the placement of each follicle, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing hairline. This process is repeated until all the desired areas are treated, ensuring a comprehensive and effective treatment.
